Fear cripples us. It makes us a prisoner. It binds us to the thought of what might happen. God wants us to laugh, to enjoy what He’s freely given us, without being paralyzed by the thought of what might happen.
But the truth is, bad things actually might happen. So, how can we live in freedom? The only way be free in a broken, sin-cursed world is to know and actually believe that God is in control. This is not a ditzy sense of false hope or an inflated feeling of optimism. This is being aware of and calmed by the fact that I am not in control, and I serve a God Who is.
So, come what may. My God is greater. My God surrounds me. He is my shield and a “protective wall of fire around” me (Zechariah 2:5).
Knowing that, I will be walk in victory today, and I will be fearless.
