So many things in life threaten to take our faith and our peace, big things and little things. Anything from a tragic diagnosis to unexpected traffic can threaten to move us from the place of trusting calmness. Followers of God must remember that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He wants to use anything necessary to destroy our faith and peace.
But Jesus came that we “may have life and have it more abundantly” (also John 10:10). If God is the Lord of our lives, we have the ability through His Spirit Who He has placed in us to not let these things rid us of our faith and peace. We have to remember that “He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Let’s actually trust God to take care of all the situations that we face today, both big and small. Let’s be anchored in the firm belief that “all things work together for good” for those who love and belong to God (Romans 8:28). This hope is the anchor of our souls.
